Following on yesterday's post about our L'il Talker, another thing that never fails to make Kaesea meow: being picked up.
If the startled noise is a "merp," the picked-up noise is a definite "Maowww!" as demonstrated by this photo:
Poor thang. But we just can't help but want to pick up all of that fluffy cuteness and snuggle it, sooo... there are more maowwws in Kaesea's future. Sorry, Kaes.

One rough year
One year ago today -- April 16, 2009 -- we took Kaesea to the hospital. He ended up staying there for a very long 11 days. During that time, our lives basically stood still while we watched his blood levels, learned the ins and outs of a 24 hour veterinary clinic, and hoped for the best.
Fortunately, I work for an amazing company that forgave my dropping out of work for over a week in order to spend time at the hospital with my cat. Grateful? I cannot begin to describe it.
During his time in the hospital, we were told that Kaesea had cancer. After 11 days, we stole away in the night to come home and try to get Kaesea to heal and... it worked. He has, over the course of one long, hectic year gotten better.
Miraculously.
It has not always been ups -- there have been many downs this year. In November, I really thought we were going to lose him. But since then, he has rallied and now here we are.
Thank you again and again to everyone who has stuck it out with us. During the course of the past year, I never thought I would write a post saying, "One year later, we have our cat back." And yet... here it is. Wonders never cease.

Love this shot -- see my post about goals here to see how he's... well... made it.
Who knew he was such a little competitor: he checked out the "goal" photo and said, "Okay. Done. Just give me a year." And here we are, almost 1 year later. Goal: done.
I can hardly believe it still. I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop. Until it does, I'm happy to have my super fluffy happy kitty. Yay.

Brothers
As this is Kaesea's blog, I don't often post about his brothers, but, although he denies it, he does have two: Ben and Biscuit.
Ben is a very sweet lab/rottie mix who is terrified of Kaesea. This works out fine, because Kaesea hates him and avoids him like the plague.
Biscuit is a little terror -- an orange and white tabby perma-kitten who cannot be contained. His favorite pastime is to beat up on Kaesea. As you'd expect, Kaesea hates him, too.
Since Kaesea got sick, we have kept him separated from his brothers, but when we're all home, we let them all get together with supervision. Here's a rare shot of the whole furry family:
This is such a perfect shot of all of their personalities...
Kaesea: If I ignore you two, you aren't really here.
Biscuit: Hey, I like this pillow! This is just for me, right? Great!
Ben: Did you want me to sit here? Right here? Just like this? Ok!
